Hansi Flick drops Ter Stegen-Joan García jersey number hint
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to play down the significance of the jersey number made use of by Joan García in the club's meeting with Vissel Kobe. Barcelona of course kicked their pre-season fixture list into gear on Sunday, in a friendly meeting with Vissel in the city of Kobe. Summer signing Joan was for his part in from the off in the clash, his debut in Blaugrana colours. Not only that, but the 24-year-old took to the pitch donning Barca's no.1 jersey. This squad number was held by Marc-André ter Stegen this past season, with no official confirmation as of yet having been forthcoming that the German has been stripped of as much. Upon Joan being spotted making use of the '1' yesterday, though, chatter surrounding a change of the guard between the posts in Hansi Flick's squad quickly spread. Speaking to the media post-match, Flick was therefore questioned on whether or not Joan has indeed taken Ter Stegen's shirt number. The German, however, was quick to assure that: 'Numbers worn in pre-season are only for pre-season.' Conor Laird – GSFN

How Hansi Flick welcomed new signing Marcus Rashford to Barcelona
An insight into the first exchange between Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick and incoming signing Marcus Rashford at the club's training base has on Monday been provided. This of course comes after the Barcelona brass over the weekend tied up a deal for the Englishman. After striking out on first-choice winger target Nico Williams, those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou recently shifted full focus towards Rashford. With the player himself having long been keen on a move to Catalunya's capital, an agreement on the terms of a loan deal for the season ahead was therefore not long in being found. Rashford for his part touched down in Barcelona on Sunday night, before making the trip to his new club's headquarters for a round of medical tests early this morning. And waiting to welcome the Manchester United man upon his arrival was none other than Hansi Flick. As per a report from : 'Hansi Flick was waiting for him there. With a hug and a handshake, the German coach welcomed him to the Blaugrana project. Deco also welcomed him.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Barcelona open to offloading surplus forward following Rashford's arrival
Barcelona are in dangerous waters with their financial constraints in recent years, and therefore, they are open to selling a few players now that they have closed the Marcus Rashford deal. The Blaugrana were desperately looking for an added attacking option, and they have signed Rashford on a loan deal from Manchester United. The England international is versatile and will cover two positions at Camp Nou, making him the ideal backup option for Hansi Flick. However, as per reports via Super Deporte, Barcelona are now open to selling Pau Victor, who has become surplus to requirements after Rashford's arrival. Barcelona need to balance the books, and selling Victor would help them with the funds needed to register new signings like Joan Garcia and Rashford. Valencia are reportedly interested in Victor, but they want to sign him on loan with an option to buy. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp On the other hand, Barcelona are keen on the outright sale of the 23-year-old, who has featured in 27 games and scored two goals last season across competitions. What's Barcelona's asking fee for Pau Victor? Victor understands that he will depart Barcelona this summer as he is not in Flick's plans this season, with plenty of players filling in his position. (Getty Images) Valencia are reportedly the front-runners and have had meetings with Barcelona discussing a move for the 23-year-old. However, with Barcelona demanding £8 million ($11m) for Victor, Valencia won't be able to match such demands, as financial regulations are also impacting their transfer activity. It remains to be seen if they somehow manage to negotiate a lower asking fee or an ideal loan to buy deal for the Spanish forward.
